In Yatta We Trust

Hey hey!

I have just organized my photos on flickr so you can see where they were taken on the world map (well... mostly around Vancouver )

If you zoom on the map you will see more photos appearing. This is a very cool feature, you can now see where we went in details! Clic on Satellite view for a better "immersion" in Vancouver
If you zoom out enough you will see pictures around Vancouver: the North Vancouver parks and mountains and Vancouver island for example.
Let's play the game "Where is Puppy?" if you find this photo of Puppy, you will find where is our appartment.

I played with the Wii! yeah ! yatta!!

For those who don't know what the wii is (shame on you! :D), this is the new Nintendo console. And it uses movement recognition to play games. It is already out in Canada, but in Europe you will have to wait until the 8th of december (ahah)

After all that time reading reviews on the net, i could test it for myself! We went for shopping today (to get ready for the snow mania!), and there was a Nintendo Wii demo thingy. So i grabbed the wiimote and the guy let me play Red Steel, a shooting game with yakusas and bad guys who are not willing to use diplomacy anyway.
So you use the wiimote in the right hand to aim the gun and shoot these bastards, and the nunchaku in the left hand, to reload by shaking your hand. Its fun to play, although the cursor is lost sometimes if you move to far out the wiimote. It is a bit weird to play a FPS like this after being accustomed to mouse/keyboard, but i after a while you get used to it. It's a bit tiring for the arms as well
Red Steel doesn't seems that good, but the idea is here. There was Wii boxing and Wii tennis on demo, as well as the new Zelda. I didn't try it, but it was very fun to watch people play the boxing game, and moving like crazy! Type "wii boxing" in youtube and you will get loads of funny homemade video of people boxing

Our Tv doesn't even have the peritel plug, it's a crappy old TV that we found in our building. So i think i will have to wait until next summer to get my own one

My new macbook is dead. Due to a random shutdown problem. It didnt even turned on at this end. So it is being repaired at the moment. I am very upset with mac now! i want to go back to PC, I will organise a donation so you can support me and help me buying a new PC laptop

I hope to be back online next week, when i ll get it back... if it works...

Tonight i did one of the greatest discover of our times...

I was trying to remove the sticker at the back of my Nintendo DS when i was suprised to find a strange code inscripted

As you can see this is kinda weird, It seems to be a mix of numbers and japanese kanjis or something like that. If any of you is a little Champolion and would like to help me crack this code, let me know! I am thinking that i am probably not the only one on this planet with this code, so if you have a DS, and if the guarantee is gone, try this as well! Maybe this is a giant enigma prepared by Myamoto himself! Let's crack the code and unveiled Nintendo secrets !!

Ok this is now a few weeks since i recieved Mac. First, it is still working fine
It didnt really crash yet, altough we had some weird problems with internet browsing some time.

Things i like about the mac:

• the design, i love the apple touch.
• the colours on the screen, the excellent keyboard, the 2 fingers touch pad thing (scrolling with 2 fingers)
• my new logitech mouse (after a while the touchpad sucks
• fun software : Comic life to create comic books, i ll try to make a roman-photo soon (ps: nick, ric, emic : ps de FJT style pour le roman photo )
• the useless remote control, just because its cool, but we dont really use it.
• the magnetic power cable, very nicely done, if you trip on the cable, the laptop wont fall
• the spotlight search, search for files in realtime, and no need to wait 5min like on windows.
• the wifi! it picked up 15 network around here and its cool to chat where you are in the bed or on the balcony !

Things i dont like about the mac:

• not enough USB ports!
• iPhoto, too messy, it creates backup of backups of photos. Cant rename the files, its crap. i want AcdSee back
• iTunes, why is it copying everything into the library? i want to play external files
• i cant write on my 300Gb hard drive because its NTFS drive. And i cant format it because i have nowhere to put my 300GB
• Mac book is so damn hot!! if you have it on your lap, its very hot and im worried for my "underbelt" area
• some software dont work with the intel mac yet
• i dont have a case to transport it
