  We found our home!

heyii!! at last, we found our apartment! its in a nice location, next to a busy street and close to the skytrain ! very important. the apartment has a bedrom and a living room quite big :) plus kitchen/bathroom, and even a balcony! with view on the montains :)

After all that trouble of finding a place, we finally got our luck today!

We will get the keys on Thursday, and will start moving stuff probably at the weekend. We have already some stuff (thanks Cora&Chris!!) : table, chairs, pots, broken phone, mini-pizza-oven...

There are loads of Garage sales everyweekend in Vancouver, so we might find some nice furnitures for our little home sweet home :)

Here is the location on google map

  Pic of Me!!

I know there are none so i thought i'd just put the best one.

  Vancouver and stuff..

Hey All,

Ed complained enough at me to write one of this things so here goes...

My sun burn has faded since my last entry and turned in to a nice assembly of freckles. Its raining now which i like but another heat wave is coming on Tuesday!! (I have the maximum factor ready, no red neck for me!)

This city is a bit strange though i have to say.. More than 50% are Asian (majority Chinese) and a good percentage of the rest are lesbians!! I am a minority.. no more foreigner jibes from me (yeah right).

Also alot of movies/shows are made here (Xmen 2 & 3, Happy Gilmore, Rocky IV!!!..) and we came across our first film the other day but i could not find any famous people although I am sure we met Denis Rodman when we were walking Hana in the park the other day... Also we saw Lock complete with wheelchair downtown (note he was walking away from it!! - LOST reference)

The place we are staying in at the moment is brilliant, its got loads of cool stuff including 80stastic clothes, a mad number of shoes, tons of retro clocks, a lovely doggie and many many more things. Chris and Cora Burnette who kindly donated a room to us have there own entertainment show http://www.thegoshow.net and their own record label and records http://www.telusplanet.net/public/melvins/gorock/index.html as Chris would say its Cold Doggin!!! (Assumed translation is that it is great) We are still hunting for a place to live though, i think all the landlords/slumlords are kinda anti-non-canadians or anti-bloody responding to any messages i leave.. but we will find a good place soon if not tomorrow I'm sure!!

  Hana - the poo monster.

Ok here is the poo monster. She is called Hana, she a is 12 years old cross colley-lab. She is very cheeky for an old lady, and she will go outside for a walk only if you give her ham before.

And she is a poo machine!! she can make up to 5 or 6 poos in a row, just because she likes you so much! as you can see i am having an hard time with that! Jen must have some advance on me in the hana's poo-picking championship, something like 25-21 :) Not like in France, here you have to pick up your dog poo!, or an old lady could give out to you whithing 10seconds!

I hate that dog ! :D
  Granville Market

Heya, today we went to Granville Island, where you can find a public market, restaurant, cafes, attractions... Its a very cool place, south of Downtown where you can find very nice product. I bought some french saucisson! Funny thing is that a french girl was working in this saucisson-cheese shop, she came with a working holiday visa as well, and stayed for a second year!

Some strange fishes and octopus!

Jen really liked the kid market, a building with loads of kid stuff and a giant plastic balls pool! She even bought a pink hyppopotamus. (ps: when is Lou 's birthday? i have seen some cool stuff here:)
Later, there was a guy in the street doing some cool fire juggling, and i got involved in his show. he asks me to help him out, so i did! in front of hundreds of people! i had to hold a ladder while he was juggling with fire, and i had to throw him burning sticks, and he was throwing them back!! deadly! but quite scary. i ll add a video later about that!

  looking for home

We are looking for an apparment now, and it is not easy to find :( We have been to visit several places already, but we were not the only ones, so the competition is hard! and the fact that we dont want to sign for a year lease or that we just arrived here with not job, doesnt help.

Well we try not to be discouraged anyway. and tonight its the american idol finale! youpiii lol. I will let you know when we will be safe in our new home :)

  Chinese Garden

Heya some photos from the Sun-yat chinese garden. This little garden is in the middle of china town. there are turtles, ducks, baby ducks, frogs like me... but no bear yet and no raccoon. I really want to see a raccoon now ;)

We opened a bank account at Royal Bank of Canada. We have a card but no money in the account!
This was really easy to do, they just ask for a passport, we choose the 4$/month package, so you can do 15 transactions a month. We will see how it goes.

A surprising thing here is the population, there must be 1/3 of asians people here. Thats just crazy, some taxis cars got chinese or korean text only on it. in China Town, we have seen some strange stuff to sell, like these flying lizzards on a stick, like a lollypop :) I will try that one day ! looks yummy. I was surprise not to see more black people here, i guess they are more in the east.

Tommorow we will really start to look for a place, until now we only did touristy things, but time has gone to find a roof to live. And Jen already want to buy loads of usefull things like chinese umbrella to decorate the place.

So when i ll get an address, i will be waiting for my french football jersey, so i ll be ready for the world cup !

  Escale Parisienne

I am now in Paris for 2 weeks. I left Ireland and my Job last weekend. It was not easy to leave my friends after 2 years here. These 2 years went so quickly! I will keep in touch with all of you people :) if you want to of course. So here in paris, first it is very warm to compare to ireland, i am just wearing a tshirt, byebye my raincoat ^^

I ordered some dollars at my bank, i ll get each different notes :) i got my insurance ready, my international driving license, my visa papers, my irish jersey, i still need the french one to be ready for the worldcup in Vancouver.

At the moment i am finishing a website for a very good irish restaurant: . If you pass through Slane (Co. Meath), go an eat here its wonderful! ps: i nearly finished Zelda the miniship cap on GBA, for those who are interested :)
